History of Harvest Hope Food Bank – Pee Dee Branch Page
Harvest Hope Food Bank of the Pee Dee began its operation in December, 1997. With only one full-time employee and numerous volunteers, they served 25 partner agencies in a 10,000 sq. ft. building located on National Cemetery Road in Florence, SC.

The Pee Dee branch now serves more than 130 partner agencies in Florence, Darlington, Dillon, Lee, Marion, Chesterfield, Marlboro and Clarendon counties. Due to an increased need for food and storage space, the Pee Dee branch relocated to its present location, a 25,000 sq. ft. warehouse at the Pee Dee State Farmer’s Market on Highway 52 near Florence-Darlington Technical College.

Harvest Hope Food Bank is a valuable asset to the Pee Dee community. In the past 10 years, there have been many employees, volunteers and community workers that have contributed to the ongoing success of the mission of Harvest Hope Food Bank by gathering and sharing quality food with dignity, compassion and education to individuals in need of not only food but hope.
