- 61% of households surveyed have monthly incomes less than $1000
- 40% are households with children younger than 18 years of age
- 27% of households have an elderly person (65 years or older) in residence
- 52% of clients ate less because there was not enough money to buy food
- 29% of clients with children said their children were hungry because they could not afford more food
- 58% of clients have unpaid medical bills
- 38% of clients are receiving food stamps
- 21% of households have at least 1 employeed adult
