(SC Now) — The Florence DuPont Retirees Club, which has never missed a meeting since it formed in 1982, gathered on Dec. 16 for its ninth annual check presentation and divided $3,200 among four local charities. Local food pantries asking for donations after the holiday season

(WSPA) – Across the Upstate food banks and pantries have put out the call for food donations. In Greenville, Harvest Hope Food Bank’s Emergency Food Pantry has several bare shelves. The Upstate Branch Development Specialist, Autumn Shearin said the bare shelves are an unfortunate normal. “A lot of times right after Christmas, we’re going to need more to be able to give to the community on a daily basis,” Shearin said. Bi-Lo and Harvest Hope Food Bank tackle hunger with large food giveaway

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – On Monday afternoon, Harvest Hope Food Bank had more than 20,000 pounds of food to give away, all donated by BI-LO. The groceries were all given away on a first-come, first-serve basis. The giveaway ran from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. It was open and free to the public. Heathwood Hall Turkey Trot Raises $13,100 for Harvest Hope

The 16th Annual Middle School Turkey Trot has raised more than $13,000 in support of Harvest Hope Food Bank. Middle School students also collected more than 240 frozen turkeys and delivered them to Harvest Hope in time to put a Thanksgiving meal on the tables of local families who might not otherwise be able to afford one. Duke Energy Donates $50,000 to Fight Hunger in the Pee Dee
