Eartha Kitt Foundation Raises Money For Harvest Hope
February 19, 2016
The Eartha Kitt Foundation, founded by Kitt Shapiro (daughter of the late actress), was created in memory of a legendary local entertainer and to further her commitment to helping those in need. Noticing the efforts made by Harvest Hope Food Bank in the wake of October’s flood and wanting to find a way to get involved, the Foundation reached out to us.
On February 1st, they created a crowdrise page in order to raise $10,000 (equal to 50,000 meals) to help us provide essential support for clients in our service areas.
Eartha Mae Kitt was an American entertainer, born in North, South Carolina. She remains well-known for her 1967 role as Catwoman in, the third and final season of the television series, Batman. Orson Welles, a famous American actor, director, writer and producer once called her the “most exciting woman in the world.”
Many of us, here, at Harvest Hope also remember Eartha singing Santa Baby. This song brings back so many memories! Please take a moment to remember Eartha and check out the YouTube video below:
We would like to extend our heart-felt gratitude to The Eartha Kitt Foundation for your generous support of our mission. We are really excited about this opportunity to help people in the community and the opportunity to honor and perpetuate the memory of a local legend.
