Sonoco Sponsors Harvest Hope Mobile Food Pantry
To Deliver Hunger Relief to Hartsville Community

(Hartsville) On the morning of Thursday, October 25 Harvest Hope Food Bank’s Florence facility partnered with The Living Church to send a Mobile Food Pantry (MFP) to directly deliver food to Hartsville residents. The MFP, sponsored by Sonoco, was held at The Living Church’s new Ministry Center at 149 East Carolina Avenue in Hartsville.

Pastor Chris Honeycutt and congregation members of Living Church served as volunteers to register local residents and distribute food to those in need. Harvest Hope’s delivery truck provided 2,273 pounds of food to 97 Hartsville families at the site.

“Harvest Hope Food Bank strives daily to reach families struggling with hunger by providing  food across our 20 county service area, and our Mobile Food Pantries are a great example of business, faith, and nonprofit leaders coming together to offer wonderful community assistance,” said Harvest Hope CEO Denise Holland. “We thank all of our partners, such as business partners like Sonoco, who make this happen.”

“Each and every MFP is different and offers special rewards to different communities in the Hartsville area, and I am always moved to see the ways volunteers and neighbors come together to deliver the food and assist those who are elderly or disabled,” said Harvest Hope’s Pee Dee Agency Relations Specialist Carl Goodson. “I also want to express Harvest Hope’s enormous thanks and appreciation to Sonoco, who continues to show their support and concern for Hartsville residents, for sponsoring this MFP, and for working with us in the past to provide for this community.”
