Harvest Hope Launches "Mac Madness" Mac & Cheese Food Drive

March 19, 2021

In the spirit of the highly anticipated NCAA March Madness basketball tournament, Harvest Hope Food Bank is hoping to host a tournament of their own – to collect hundreds of boxes of macaroni and cheese to help feed families across South Carolina from now through April 5.

Mac Madness comes off the heels of a very successful Spread the Love peanut butter campaign held during the month of February. Community members rallied together to donate over 12,000 jars through both monetary and physical donations.

“We are always looking for new and creative ways to get the local community involved with our mission of building a hunger-free tomorrow,” says Erinn Rowe, Harvest Hope CEO. “While many are filling out their brackets for the March Madness tournament, it’s also great time to also give back to others.”

Macaroni and cheese is one of the food bank’s most requested items from its partners. Being easy to make, having a long shelf-life and tasting delicious, it is a staple for both young and old.

Community members looking to donate boxes of macaroni and cheese can find all drop off locations for all three of our branches listed here.

Donations can also be made through Harvest Hope’s Amazon Wishlist and online on our website. For a donation of $10, you can help provide 12 boxes of macaroni and cheese.
