Media Alert: Halloween Star, James Jude Courtney, Brings Awareness to Local Hunger at “It’s Scary to Be Hungry” Food Drive

October 16, 2023

Join Harvest Hope Food Bank and actor and Columbia native James Jude Courtney for the third annual “It’s Scary to be Hungry” Food Drive.

Courtney’s goal is to bring awareness to the food bank and the work Harvest Hope does for the community, as well as encourage people to donate food to the drive. “There’s no reason in the world that anyone in this country should go to bed hungry,” said Courtney. "When one person starves, everybody starves. We have work to do, but I get to be a part of that, and I'm grateful for it."

Harvest Hope is grateful for the continued support of Courtney and the community. “Donations are our lifeblood. Community food drives like this help us as we approach the holiday season, ensuring we can give hope a seat at the table,” said Erinn Rowe, CEO of Harvest Hope.
