Harvest Hope, Duke’s Mayonnaise Partner to Fight Hunger in the Upstate

August 11, 2021

GREENVILLE, S.C. (August 11, 2021) – To kick off college football’s Duke’s Mayo Classic, Sauer Brands, who owns locally-produced Duke’s Mayonnaise, partnered with Harvest Hope Food Bank to distribute food to South Carolinians in need around Greenville and surrounding communities.

Duke’s mayo team members gathered at Harvest Hope for a day of giving back to their local community through volunteering and helping to give out food to those facing hunger in the Upstate. To celebrate Duke’s Mayonnaise, a staple in southern recipes for over 100 years, tomato sandwich kits were handed out including classic white bread, farm fresh tomatoes and Duke’s mayo.

“College football and Duke’s Mayonnaise are popular household names across South Carolina,” says Erinn Rowe, Harvest Hope CEO. “It was an honor to host their team for a day of service at our food bank. Being able to collaborate with local partners is fun, and also essential to our mission of building a hunger-free tomorrow in our state.”

Along with volunteering, Duke’s donated $5,000 to help with hunger relief efforts in the Upstate.

“Giving back is our way of saying thank you and supporting our communities on a local level,” says Rebecca Lupesco, Duke’s Brand Manager of Mayohem. “We are grateful that we can do that through partners like Harvest Hope who serves the community right in our backyard.”
