Horror Film Fans Fight Hunger One Can at A Time

October 27, 2022

For the second year in a row, actor James Jude Courtney, better known as the man behind the Michael Myers mask in the recent movies, partnered with Harvest Hope Food Bank for a food drive and meet-and-greet with fans in the Midlands.

“There’s no reason in the world that anyone in this country should go to bed hungry,” said Courtney. “South Carolinians are so generous – it really touches me. This is so important as no one should go hungry, especially a child.”

Fans of the actor stood in line to meet with Courtney, and in return they donated over 1,260 pounds of food for those facing food insecurity here in their communities.

“Community donations are our lifeblood. This is how we can give food to those in need,” said Erinn Rowe, CEO of Harvest Hope. “I’m sure you’ve seen all the news about inflation, supply chain issues, so we truly need these food drives over the holiday season to help feed those who are hungry in South Carolina.”

During the months of November and December, you can help Harvest Hope Food Bank by:

  • Donating financially to help purchase food and keep trucks on the road.
  • Shopping our Amazon Wishlist.
  • Signing up to volunteer at one of Harvest Hope’s three branches.
