- What is the Agency Symposium?
Harvest Hope Food Bank's Agency Symposium is an annual event to bring together the Agency Partners (food banks, child feeding sites, soup kitchens, shelters, etc.) across our 20 county footprint. The all-day event includes networking opportunities, guest speaker appearances, educational segments, a resource fair, and lunch. Our goal is for our Agency Partners to leave the event feeling educated and empowered to fight hunger across South Carolina.
- I'm an Agency Partner - Why Should I Attend?
The Agency Symposium is a great way to meet other Agency Partners like you! Share best practices with one another, problem-solve, and learn more ways to better support your communities. Plus, you'll hear from guest speakers and leadership at Harvest Hope Food Bank for the latest news and resources when it comes to food insecurity in our state, and how we can best support you and your mission.
- I'm a Business or Organization - Why Should I Sponsor the Event?
Our Agency Partner network includes over 350 churches, schools, and organizations across the Pee Dee, Midlands, and Upstate. This event is a great way to connect directly with members of your local communities who could benefit from learning more about your products and services. Not to mention by sponsoring our event, you are directly supporting our mission to build a healthy and hunger-free South Carolina.
- Who can attend the symposium?
The symposium is open to Harvest Hope Food Bank partner agencies in good standing. We encourage organizations to bring staff members, volunteers, and board members who are actively involved in their hunger-relief efforts.
- How many people can our agency bring?
Each partner agency may register up to 2 attendees. If additional spaces become available, agencies on the waitlist will be notified.
- Is there a cost to attend?
No, attendance is complimentary for Harvest Hope partner agencies.
- Do all attendees need to register?
Yes. Each individual attending the symposium must complete registration to ensure accurate attendance counts, meal planning, and session preparation.
- Can I transfer my registration if I can no longer attend?
Yes. If someone from your organization can no longer attend, please notify us so we can update the registration information.
- Is parking available?
Yes. Complimentary parking will be available on-site. Additional parking instructions will be provided closer to the event.
- Are there hotels nearby?
Yes. A list of recommended hotels with contact information and approximate distances from the venue will be available for attendees traveling from outside the area.
- Will meals and refreshments be provided?
Yes, breakfast and lunch will be provided. Dietary restrictions can be noted during registration.
- Is the venue accessible?
Yes. The symposium venue is accessible. Please let us know if accommodations are needed so we can best support your attendance.
- Will there be opportunities to network with other agencies?
Absolutely! Networking is one of the highlights of the symposium. Dedicated networking time will be built into the agenda, allowing attendees to connect, share ideas, and learn from one another.
- What topics will be covered during the symposium?
Topics may include agency updates, program enhancements, compliance reminders, best practices, food sourcing opportunities, innovative distribution models, and professional development topics.
- Will there be breakout sessions?
No. This year the Symposium will be structured different. You will have the opportunity to hear from various speakers throughout the event.
- Will there be exhibitors or resource tables?
Yes. Community partners and Harvest Hope teams may host informational tables featuring resources, services, and opportunities available to agencies.
- What should I bring?
We recommend bringing:
- A notebook or device for taking notes
- Business cards or agency materials for networking
- Questions and ideas to share
- A willingness to learn and connect!
