Community Relationship Coordinator
Location: Greenville, S.C.
The Community Relationship Coordinator will raise community awareness about food insecurity and HHFB’s mission, vision, and goals by focusing on causes and programs around eliminating hunger insecurity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develops strategy for recruiting new cause-related marketing projects.
• Creates and maintains a list of potential corporate partners.
• Works to develop project concepts that help meet the needs of specific prospects and participates in the solicitation of the prospects.
• Coordinates logistics, marketing communications, and follow-up for each project to ensure a mutually beneficial outcome.
• Manages third-party and cause-related marketing partnerships to renew and expand fundraising.
• Identifies, recruits, trains, and motivates volunteers for cause-related events as needed, including committee formation and management to ensure a paradigm of volunteer-driven special events.
• Attends networking events such as luncheons and local networking mixers to deepen engagement with food bank, often acting as key spokesperson for HHFB.
• Manages initiatives for raising support from local businesses and organizations through strategic and tactical planning into implementation.
• Uses knowledge of local businesses and organizations to refine existing programs and recommend and implement new and creative strategies to maximize annual revenues.
• Logs contact reports in the donor and volunteer management software and other databases as necessary.
• Manages all logistics of the event pre-, during, and post-event including logistics, safety, security, and liability.
• Plans timelines for successful execution of events.
• Attends partnered food and fund drive events as requested from the community and approved by the Development department.
• Collaborates with Director of Advocacy and Marketing to build marketing efforts, communications, and materials for events.
• Prepares and sends monthly thank-you letters to food and fund drive donors.
• Provides various levels of support for the projects for the Development Department such as special events and Feeding America’s Cause Marketing Campaigns.
• Meets or exceeds an annual fundraising goal of approximately $158K and securing 500,000 pounds of donated non-perishable food items.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Acknowledges that HHFB team members are considered emergency responders and may be called in to perform regular or emergent duties in instances of a federal, state or locally declared emergency.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Two years of demonstrated experience promoting community engagement or social awareness.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communications, interpersonal and customer service skills; comfortable with public speaking.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Self-starter, strong organizational skills, attention to detail and creative story-telling ability.
• Ability to attend work functions outside of normal work hours, on weekends and evenings, as needed.
• Must be able to clearly articulate the mission of Harvest Hope Food Bank.
• Ability to relate effectively and professionally with other staff, volunteers, agency representatives and the public.

This position operates primarily in an office setting within the branch. The position requires sitting at a desk and in meetings for long periods of time and involves extensive computer work with frequent interruptions. Vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. This position
requires monitoring warehouse operations in a warehouse environment internally and externally consisting of hot and cold temperatures. With forklift traffic in the facility and product stacked and stored throughout, this position requires someone who is mobile and who can hear and watch for traffic and normal hazards of a warehouse environment. Occasionally, this role is required to respond to organizational needs outside of normal working hours, including nights and weekends.
